Runar Østebø

About

Runar Østebø is advisor at Equinor for subsea technology and operations, and advocates also ISO/TC67 reliability and cost standards usage in the overall energy company arena. He is a member of ISO/TC67 Management Committee and Convenor of ISO/TC 67/WG 4 – Reliability Engineering & Technology. Additionally, he is actively engaged in the ISO/TC67 Advisory Group for Communication. The last 25 years include past and current development of many NORSOK and ISO standards. With 33 years of experience at Equinor, his responsibilities have encompassed corporate quality assurance and benchmarking, technology development & qualification and production assurance & reliability management in offshore & onshore assets for numerous onshore and offshore oil and gas projects worldwide. He has chaired the OREDA JIP Steering committee for 10 years and has been responsible for Equinor's reliability data collection for 20 years. Prior to joining Equinor, he worked 10 years internationally for an oil & gas risk management consultancy company and in a Norwegian drilling and well research institute, also as a recognized expert in blowout risk prevention.
