Roland Goodman
About
Roland Goodman is the Senior Manager of Upstream standards for the American Petroleum Institute (API) in Washington, D.C. Roland’s group is responsible for staffing 15 committees that develop and maintain approximately 370 equipment and operational standards covering onshore and offshore exploration, drilling, and production. These standards are used globally to enhance the safety of industry operations, assure quality, and help reduce costs. Roland is also the administrator for the U.S. mirror committees to ISO/TC 67 for the oil and gas industry, including, petrochemical and lower carbon energy activities.
Roland has been with API for 30 years, with his first 11 years spent working on refining equipment standards. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California and is a member of the Society of Standards Professionals.
