Achilleas Sotirelis has been an Industrial Extensions Officer at the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, since 2011. He worked for the Oil and Gas section of the Energy Service of the Ministry until 2013 and for the Hydrocarbons Service thereafter, primarily in the Energy Infrastructure and the Licences and Contracts Management sections. Prior to joining the public sector, he worked as a consultant.

Achilleas graduated as a Chemical Engineer from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2003 (B.Eng., M.Eng.) and acquired a Master in Business Administration in Oil, Gas and Energy Management from the University of Nicosia in 2018. He participated in a number of workshops and training programs relating to the hydrocarbons sector.

 

As an employee of the Hydrocarbons Service for the last eleven years, he has a comprehensive view of the regulatory and administrative framework for hydrocarbon exploration in Cyprus and very good knowledge of the hydrocarbon exploration activities in Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone.
